Apple SE/30 – Long T15 Screwdriver found!

Sunday, August 31st, 2008

I can finally replace the faulty SCSI hard disk in my Apple SE/30. I have found a long reach T15 Torx scredriver. Got it for £1 at my local market. These screwdrivers are quite hard to find. They go for about £4 on eBay.

Will crack open the Apple tonight, and fix it.

VIC-20 PC + Slow WinAPE fixed!

Monday, August 25th, 2008

I have managed to fix the speed issue of WinAPE on my VIC-20 PC. This is how I did it…

Once WinAPE had started, I went into Settings, General. Then click on the Display tab. I then disabled the Direct X strech.

Thats it! WinAPE is now perfectly playable. I am now happy!

You can download WinAPE from http://www.winape.net

Rants – part 2

Monday, August 25th, 2008

Here are sone additions to my previous rants.

  • Trucks who overtake other trucks on hills on the motorway. Very common on the A14.
  • People who sit down next to you on a bench and they start to smoke. Do you mind? I dont want your cancer, thanks!
  • Kids changing the channel on your sky box when you want your PVR to record somthing. There is only so much “Tiny Pop” and Cbeebies a man can take!

And here is a rant posted in a comment from Hawk for a previous blog posting.

  • People who drive around with their fog lights on…WHEN IT’s NOT FOGGY! (And they’ll try and convince you that they’re “Driving Lights” ’cause that’s what it says in the manual, BUT THEY’RE FOG LIGHTS!)

Console Wars

What’s the greatest games machine of them all?

It’s an argument that’s raged for as long as we’ve had joysticks to waggle and controller buttons to mash.

Yet still we are no nearer an answer. The current generation are the most technically capable, but are they the most fun? Perhaps you were more absorbed by gaming back in the day of the monochrome Game Boy, or the 8 bit Sega Master System?

Here’s your chance to decide once and for all on the greatest gaming machine.
